Games have been a huge, integral part of my life for about as long as I’ve been able to hold a controller. The Nintendo 64 was my first console, and Super Mario 64 my first game. Wandering around and exploring a 3D space, jumping into painted worlds, adventure and danger at every turn… these experiences were a foundational part of my childhood. And now, they’re the reason I do what I do.
When I decided I wanted to make games for a living, I began the slow, arduous process of learning programming, game design, engine tools, music composition, and art direction all by myself. While it is exhausting to do all of that on my own, the creative liberties it affords me is worth the tradeoff… sometimes. But I do it because I genuinely, whole-heartedly, love this medium and all it has to offer. I do this because I want to give other people these wonderful experiences, give them little worlds to exist in for a while, to explore and feel at home in.
All of this means an insane amount to me, and the fact that you’re reading this right now means a lot to me, too. So thank you for taking a step with me on this journey, even if it’s just to visit.
